From engineering problemsto technology businesses.

I am Iman Malek, an entrepreneur, hydraulic engineer, technology executive and consultant with more than a decade of experience developing solutions across engineering and digital technology.

My entrepreneurial journey began in Algeria with AQUASAFE, a technology venture focused on connected water-quality monitoring and environmental applications.

What started as an engineering challenge became my introduction to building technology companies — developing hardware and software, competing in innovation programs, securing early-stage support, building partnerships and presenting technology internationally.

That experience shaped how I approach innovation today.

My work later expanded into software, digital platforms, artificial intelligence, payments, InsurTech, procurement technology, enterprise systems and government integrations.

Today, based in Abu Dhabi, I combine engineering thinking, entrepreneurial experience and technology execution to help organizations turn ambitious ideas into workable products and businesses.

    The beginning

    Hydraulic engineering and the first steps into entrepreneurship.

  2. 2013–2014

    AQUASAFE

    Founded AQUASAFE in Algeria. Developed connected technology for water-quality monitoring combining sensors, electronics, communications and software.

  3. 2014

    Tstart

    AQUASAFE selected through the Tstart entrepreneurship initiative and received early-stage startup support.

  4. 2015

    IoT & innovation

    Participation in innovation programs and technology competitions. AQUASAFE reached the Intel Challenge-Me MENA finals.

  5. 2016

    Media & technology ecosystem

    AQUASAFE featured by Wamda and NTIC Magazine. Participation in Algeria’s growing IoT and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

    European Parliament

    Participated in the European Youth Event in Strasbourg as Founder & CEO of AQUASAFE.

§ 06Where it started

AQUASAFE.

Engineering meets entrepreneurship.

AQUASAFE emerged from my hydraulic engineering background and a simple question:

Can technology give organizations better visibility into the quality of their water?

The solution combined sensors, electronics, connectivity and software to monitor water-quality parameters and make information available remotely.

But AQUASAFE became much more than an engineering project.

It became my first real experience of entrepreneurship — product development, competitions, incubation, financing, partnerships, commercialization, media exposure and international opportunities.
